Yay! I have the appointment!
So, to recap….I fell on th 8th. Guess when the “emergency” appointment is?
….May 26th
Maybe I need help with my math… but I’m pretty sure that’s a whole 18 days after the “emergency” ultrasound was requested. Niiice.
Good thing my doctor’s appointment is this Friday… my doc is gonna FLIP OUT… heehee. And besides, he’s going to try for the first time to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. 
So if that works out, then I’m sure I have nothing to worry about.
WTH When you deliver are they going to say sorry you’ll have to keep that baby in there a few more days we don’t have any openings for emergency deliveries.
Wow, 18 days for an emergency appt?! How long does it take for a non-emergency one? Yikes! I hope that your doctor finds the heartbeat no sweat!
Yeah, I love being in a small town, too.
Anyway, just wanted to give you a pre-Doppler heads-up — with my first son, we couldn’t hear the heartbeat with the Doppler until 15 weeks, and then only fleetingly. We had tried at 9 weeks and also at 13 weeks. I left the office and cried all the way home that time, although the midwife assured me that everything was “probably” still okay, and that it wasn’t uncommon not to be able to hear it even at 13 weeks. (Of course, everything I had read said that it should be able to be heard by 10-11 weeks.) Anyway, everything was completely fine — he was just running away from the Doppler!
So, you’ll probably hear the baby’s heartbeat this Friday, but if you don’t, that doesn’t mean something is wrong!!
YEA! Hearing the heart beat is the most awesome thing. It might take him a little bit to find it so don’t freak out. When the doctor finally found one of my babies’ heart beats my husband asked some silly question and I started laughing and then it was gone. So make sure your husband doesn’t make you laugh!!!!
I had my 12 week scan on Monday! It was pretty awesome! The Consultant actually did mine, and we heard the heartbeat! It sounded like galloping horses. I actually looked at her in shock and said ‘ is that ME?’ she said No, Its the BABY! I was so overwhelmed. You will be fine and I know you will hear that wonderful sound. Cherish the moment. it goes too fast!
