Me? A Book?

My DH suggested today that I write a book based on my infertility experiences….basically a more detailed version of everything I have written here thus far (plus those relevent events which predate this blog).
He has a point. I receive a lot of email on a regular basis from people wanting to know more. And I know I’ve touched people’s lives around the world (from Canada to Australia, South Africa, Slovenia, and more!)
My Question is….should I write the book? Would anyone be interested?
I’m interested in some honest feedback.
hell yes people would be interested. anyone who has gone through infertility would appreciate a book about the experience so they don’t feel so alone. you should do it.
Wouldn’t hurt and self-publishing is becoming easier and easier
I’m not trying to discourage you by any means; but writing a book is really, really difficult. If you base it on your blog, people expect lots of new material when they can read what’s on your blog for free.
And there are so many infertility blogs & message boards out there now. Just do a ton of research on what’s already been published (both on paper and on the web), and make sure you have the time to really commit to it.
In theory, I think we all want to be published; but in reality, it’s so much harder than you expect it to be. Kinda like motherhood!!
Kris, you’re right. People will expect more. I don’t think that would be an issue considering there is 2 years of material that isn’t even on this blog….I started it late in my journey.
