Sorry folks…it’s been a long time since I’ve updated this blog.

Well, it seems I’m starting a new journey and this blog just isn’t the spot to write about it.

A brief description: I’ve left my husband. See? I told you…brief.

I’ve been saying for months now that I was going to transform our boot room/storage room (aka. room full of crap) into a summer play room for Ashley.  Yesterday my mom came over and we actually did it!  I still have a few things to put out there…but oh my! It is so cool out there….she is going to love it when she gets here in July!!

Now I have a butt-load of stuff to put into a garage sale…which I’m hoping will being in about $1 million, so hubby and I can retire and just enjoy our kids.  That could happen….right?

Once I have Ashley’s room de-cluttered, I’m going to paint an old dresser for her so she can finally have her own (the kids have been sharing one).  And my mom bought her a new lamp for her room (she has Dora…but the new one is Princesses…which is the new fad in our house).  We still have to set up the new swing set.

My neighbors own a sand & gravel company and they brought me 10 YARDS of sand.  They made a big sand hill for the kids to play in.  No sand box for my kids…oh no! We have a mountain now!

This summer is going to be so great.  I need to learn how to garden now…

I really missed the boat, folks. I spent my entire pregnancy in ugly clothes.

And today, 6 months post-partum, I find this site full of great (and inexpensive) maternity clothes.
Not only do they have great stuff – but the have it in PLUS sizes too! Yup. From 1x-5x!!! I could have shopped there. And oh, I would have spent a lot. I wish someone had told me about this site before. You better believe I’m sending the link to all my preggo friends…it’s too good to pass up!

They have lots of cute, unique and trendy styles which are a break from the typical big, boxy maternity clothes I’ve seen in other stores (in person and online). And their prices are WAY lower than anything I’ve seen on a maternity site that offers nice clothes. The one I shopped at was at least 75% MORE than this site I found today!

And since I have so many readers that are hoping to, or are pregnant…some of you are bigger girls like me, and some are tiny (like I hope to be)…I want to help you out. I do this from time to time. Oh who am I kidding? I do this all. the. time.

And sometimes I find things I actually want to buy.

So today I found a cool site that has designer baby clothes, books, toys, etc. This jellycat jungly-tails book is way too cool and I think I may need one Thor may need one. It has TAILS….and yes I am easily amused! But I can also see how fun it would be for babies/young kids. Not only the book, but I’m totally in love with their bath toys – especially these!

But it’s not just kids stuff. I found something Thor may need to buy his mommy…this barefoot dreams robe. Maybe that will be my reward when I get to my goal weight! I’ll make sure he saves his pennies.

I decided it was time for a change in appearance. How do you like it?

…I am, of course, speaking of the blog.

Thor is getting ready to crawl, and this presents a whole new set of worries. You know what I mean….how do I keep him safe from EVERYTHING. Gah. I remember this all too well with my step daughter (she was 9 months old when I came into her life), so I have experience….it’s just that there is so much out there now, how do you know what’s worth getting and what’s not?

So I’ve been doing my research and found some pretty great stuff. Did you know that now they have plastic shields for your TV to protect it from little hands? It’s honestly not something I thought of….but thinking back I remember how useful that would have been with the amount of times that Ashley ran up to the TV and put her sticky hands all over it…

Now these aren’t really applicable to Thor…yet. But I think they are so neat! One is an extension for a light switch so little kids can turn off and on the light, and the other is this super cool portable night light. I wish I had known about those with Ashley – she went through this horrible phase where she was afraid of the dark so I had to bring her special Dora lamp everywhere. That portable one would have saved me a lot of headache — it’s even cool looking so she would have liked it. Note to self: get one for the wee man when he gets older.

There was really only one other thing that I “discovered” today that I absolutely need to get. And that’s this handy device to keep all our electronics cords out of the way of little hands. Why didn’t I have these before? Our house has way too much electronics, and we are constantly saying “No, don’t touch.” to the little people who come to visit us. Wouldn’t life be so much easier if I just had these covers so I didn’t have to worry about kids unplugging things?? It’s on my list now…

I’m sure there are tons of other things we’ll end up getting to protect Thor from his own curiosity and the destruction/pain it could cause. But for now he’s only thinking about crawling….so I probably have another week (at least!) to figure it all out.

It hasn’t been an easy month for me.

Thor has been sick with one thing after another and it’s really beginning to wear me out.  First his cat allergy, then tonsillitis, then his allergy to the cold virus….now his GERD which was promptly followed by horrible constipation (thanks to the GERD medication).

So today I took him to see the doctor for the ten billionth time this month.  And now I have a laxative to give to him twice a day in hopes he can start pooping and stop crying from the pain of being plugged up.

And then there is my husband, who is depressed.  He’s having trouble dealing with his ex having his daughter, and I’m sure there is lots more going on but he refuses to talk about it.  I finally convinced him to see the doctor next week and ask for something to help stabilize his mood.  Because I honestly don’t know how much longer I can take him being rude and even sometimes downright mean to me. I love him dearly, but my sanity is quickly going out the window.

I miss seeing our friends.  With Thor being so sick it’s been impossible to see anyone.  Some of our friends have cats, so we can’t go to the weekly game night anymore (something I used to look forward to very much).  Two of our “couple” friends are pregnant and for some reason I feel excluded.  Which is crazy, because I’m certainly not ready to be pregnant again (the thought of 2 under 2 scared the crap out of me!).

Add to that the fact that I feel like the invisible woman who is just here to do the laundry, keep the house clean, cook, and raise the children.  I hardly feel “noticed” anymore….which is sad.

The good news is that I’ve been eating better, and lost 10lbs in the last few weeks.

It’s been a crazy few months and I’ve totally neglected you, dear readers. And for that I’m sorry. Here’s a quick recap on the events of the last few months:

Thor has been sick with the following:

• Near-death allergic reactions to cats.
• Tonsillitis
• Broke out in a full-body rash, fever, and refused to eat.  We later are told he is allergic to the cold virus. (I can’t make this kind of crap up!)
• Teething…which has been on-going for months and the poor guy can’t catch a break.

And then I’ve been working on re-vamping my business website, which is nearly done…thank goodness.

Not to mention yard work, spring cleaning, and my daily chores.

And weight loss. Can’t forget that. I’ve managed to lose 7lbs in 2 weeks….I’m so proud of myself!

I really don’t have much more to say for myself…. but here are a few pictures of my #1 Man:

He’s just about 6 months old, and weighs 16lbs 11oz.  If he hadn’t been so sick for the last month he would weigh a lot more. But he’s been refusing food and throwing up too much to really gain a lot. Luckily things are picking back up in the eating department.

I know I’ve been MIA for a while. But it’s for a really good reason, I promise.

For one, I’ve been busy unpacking in our new house (which I am still very much in love with!). Second, Thor is teething and growing like a weed. He’s 12 weeks old now and wearing size 6month clothes!

And the last (and most fun) reason, is that I’ve started my own business and I’ve been working hard to get the website up and running. What is it, you ask? Well I make custom cards – birth/adoption announcements, party invitations, wedding invites/announcements, and pretty much anything you can think of. If I don’t have a sample of what you want on the site, I can still make it!

Well, I’m almost completley unpacked in our new house. And I LOVE IT here! I finally have my own dishwasher, washer, and dryer. It’s like I’m in heaven. And you can see the view I have from my livingroom window (above).

Thor had his 2 month shots yesterday and screamed so hard that he burst a vein under his eye…poor lil’ dude. He’s now weighing in at 12lbs 4oz.

I bought him a Fisher Price gym – it only took him till today to figure out when he hits the toys it plays music. He loves playing with it now!

Well, I’m still working on getting settled into the new house, but I’ll hopefully be able to get online more often and brag update on Thor.
